Taylor Gutierrez Jackson
September 3rd, 1996 - July 11th, 2023
Taylor Gutiérrez Jackson, 26, of Austin and Los Angeles, passed away on July 11, 2023 near Santa Teresa, Puntareanas, Costa Rica. Taylor was born in September 1996 to Brent Jackson and Liliana Nancarrow in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. After attending Anderson High School, Taylor earned a degree in audio engineering from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. Taylor was well known and much loved for his big hugs, joyful nature, boundless love, and occasional outrageous antics. After graduating at the top of his class, Taylor interned at Shangri-La Recording Studios in Malibu, California. He worked as an independent recording engineer on projects, under producers Rick Rubin, Noah Goldstien and others, contributing to albums, audiobooks and podcasts of many famous artists. Taylor was also a producer in his own right, collaborating and performing with Hunter Sharpe of Austin. Taylor is survived by his mother and father, his sister Annalí Jackson, step-father David Nancarrow, step-mother Audrey Jackson, step-silbings Matthew Nancarrow, Gibreel Abed and Dalal Abed, and his love Lisa Streitberger. Taylor’s ashes will be interred at Remembrance Gardens. A public service to celebrate Taylor’s life will be held at Zilker Botanical Gardens on September 9 from 10am to 2pm. Please wear your happiest clothing. Taylor lost his battle with bipolar disorder. Please take a moment to inform yourself about this condition which affects up to 5% of young adults.
