Joan Gilreath Pethel

Joan Gilreath Pethel, 88, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She was born on September 29, 1936, in McAdenville, North Carolina, to the late Mack Duffy Gilreath and Clara Coleman Gilreath.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, brother Mack Gilreath, brother JD Gilreath, and sister Bobbie Gilreath. She is survived by her son, John Derrick Crenshaw; grandchildren Joseph Baker and Tiffany Rupp; and great-grandchildren Brantley Baker, Charles Rupp, and Gabriel Rupp.
For over 30 years, Joan worked as a talented and compassionate hairdresser in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her dedication to her craft and the people she served earned her the admiration and respect of many. Joan had a deep love for both music and animals, passions that filled her life with joy and brought her closer to the world around her.
Joan's warm heart and vibrant spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a life well-lived.
