Rafael Zendejas Cervantes: 22 de Abril de 1933 – 24 de Febrero de 2025
Con gran tristeza, anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro querido padre, Rafael Zendejas Cervantes. Nació el 22 de abril de 1933 en Atacheo de Regalado, Michoacán, México. En 1952, se casó con nuestra maravillosa madre, Alicia Trujillo Ramírez, quien lo precedió en fallecimiento el 21 de septiembre de 2016. Juntos formaron una familia llena de amor con nueve hijos: Gilberto (fallecido en 1982), Esperanza, Guadalupe (fallecida en 2004), María Elena, Ramiro, Martha Alicia, Anna María, Daniel y Rosalba. También fue un orgulloso abuelo de 26 nietos, 24 bisnietos y 4 tataranietos.
En la década de 1950, nuestro padre emigró a Estados Unidos en busca de un mejor futuro. Para la década de 1960, logró obtener visas para su esposa e hijos, permitiendo que la familia se reuniera. En 1967, se establecieron en Salinas, California, donde trabajó incansablemente para proveer y cuidar de su familia. Nos inculcó los valores del trabajo duro, la perseverancia y la unidad familiar. Se enorgullecía de haber comprado una casa y de enseñarnos la importancia de la responsabilidad, la integridad y el compromiso con la comunidad.
Honraremos su vida con los siguientes servicios:
Velorio: Jueves 13 de marzo, de 1:00 PM a 8:00 PM en Healey Mortuary, Salinas, CA. Servicio de Rosario a las 3:00 PM.
Misa Funeraria: Viernes 14 de marzo a las 10:00 AM en Christ the King Church, Salinas, CA.
Entierro: Al finalizar la ceremonia, será sepultado en Garden of Memories Memorial Park, Salinas, CA.
El legado de amor, dedicación y fortaleza de nuestro padre vivirá en todos nosotros. Lo extrañaremos profundamente, pero su recuerdo permanecerá por siempre en nuestros corazones.
Rafael Zendejas Cervantes: April 22, 1933 – February 24, 2025
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Rafael Zendejas Cervantes. He was born on April 22, 1933, in Atacheo de Regalado, Michoacán, México. In 1952, he married our wonderful mother, Alicia Trujillo Ramírez, who preceded him in death on September 21, 2016. Together, they built a loving family of nine children: Gilberto (who passed in 1982), Esperanza, Guadalupe (who passed in 2004), María Elena, Ramiro, Martha Alicia, Anna María, Daniel, and Rosalba. He was also a proud grandfather to 26 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In the 1950s, our father immigrated to the United States in search of a better future. By the 1960s, he secured visas for his wife and children, allowing the family to reunite. In 1967, they settled in Salinas, California, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He instilled in us the values of hard work, perseverance, and family unity. He took pride in purchasing a home and ensuring his children understood the importance of responsibility, integrity, and giving back to the community
We will honor his life with the following services:
Viewing: Thursday, March 13, from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Healey Mortuary in Salinas, CA, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 3:00 PM.
Funeral Mass: Friday, March 14, at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Church in Salinas, CA.
Burial: Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Salinas, CA.
Our father’s legacy of love, dedication, and resilience will live on in all of us. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
