With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Lee Gibson, lovingly known as "Pink" to her friends and family, who left us on February 26, 2025 at the age of 78. Phyllis was a beloved Mother, Gigi, and friend, known for her humor, caring heart, and delight in a good time.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Phyllis will be remembered for her vibrant spirit. She cherished laughter and lively conversations, usually shared near a pool with some Jimmy Buffett playing in the background. Above all, her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother, treasuring every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Shannon Lee Cota, her son-in-law, Eric Cota, her grandchildren, Evan Cota & Miles Cota, her brother, Larry Weatherby, and her sister-in-law, Mary Weatherby.
A private celebration of life will be held to honor Phyllis's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Phyllis will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
