Susan Rebecca (Cramer) Schacht, 61 of Englewood, Florida passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 23, 2025.  She was born September 27, 1963 to Donald William Cramer and Marilyn Jean (Lesman) Cramer.

Susie was a 1982 graduate of Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana, and a 1986 graduate of Depauw University where she majored in English and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.  Susie loved being a DG, where she met some wonderful young women who became lifelong friends.

After college, Susie worked at Resort Condominiums International from 1987 to 1997. She started in the call center and later worked in Resort Services as a business liaison on IT projects. Susie was a social butterfly who often quipped that she went to work to socialize and make people laugh. RCI was where she met her husband of 30 years, David. They married in 1994 and had two children, Benjamin and Sydney.

Susie’s natural gift was nurturing all living things—people, animals, plants, insects, and Mother Earth. Ben and Sydney were the apples of her eye, and she showered them with love, kindness, and compassion. They experienced regular excursions and adventures growing up. She was a gentle soul who took the time to appreciate the intricacies and beauty of nature, the petal arrangement of her favorite flower, the dahlia, the beauty of spider webs, and the patterns and colors of insects and birds.

Susan is loved and survived by her husband David Schacht, daughter Sydney Schacht, brother Randall Cramer (Skip) sister Claudia Cramer-Smith (Jeff), brother-in-law, Jerry Schacht Jr., sister-in-law Angela (Alex) Granados, sister-in-law Brenda (Jim)Van Arsdall, mother-in-law Donna Schacht and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin, her parents, Marilyn Jean and Donald William Cramer, and father-in-law Jerry Schacht Sr.

Susie never met a stranger, to know her was to love her.  While we love and miss her immensely, we are comforted knowing that she passed peacefully and is at rest.

Susie was troubled with how divided our country has become. So, if you would like to do something to honor her, simply be kind to one another, plant a tree, adopt an animal, and love your family and friends with your whole heart. Kindness and love are the best gifts we can give to one another.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.
