Ruby June Duncan
June 11th, 1931 - March 8th, 2025
Ruby June Duncan (Stewart) was born on June 11, 1931, in Alexandria, Nebraska to Irving and Myrtle Stewart. She passed away peacefully at the age of 93, on March 8, 2025. In her early years, Ruby was raised on a farm in Alexandria before moving to Zeandale, Kansas during her freshman year. While attending high school, Ruby met the love of her life, Floyd Eugene Duncan. During high school, Ruby played basketball and was a valedictorian of her graduating class in 1949. After high school, Ruby lived with her lifelong friend Doris and worked at Kansas State University doing secretarial work. One of the highlights in life was watching Will Chamberlain play basketball against Kansas State.
Floyd and Ruby were married in 1953. After they married, they moved to Wamego, Kansas and Ruby began her career as a homemaker. In 1955, they welcomed their first son, David Gene Duncan. Sixteen months later, Mark William Duncan was born. In the fall of 1956, the family moved to a farm in Kuna, Idaho with Ruby’s parents. Floyd made his living as a mechanic, Ruby continued as a homemaker, helped on the farm and worked part-time at a honey farm in Nampa. Family was an essential part of Ruby’s life with many events involving a large extended family. In 1964, the family welcomed Michele Marie Duncan. During the children’s early years, Ruby and Floyd instilled a high work ethic and highlighted the importance of family. As the children grew, Ruby enjoyed attending all the children’s sporting events, camping, PTA, church, and the community.
In 1969, Floyd and Ruby moved off the farm into the city of Kuna. Ruby began a 20-year career selling Avon and was actively involved in the community. Floyd and Ruby joined the Kuna Methodist Church in which they became involved in all aspects and developed lifelong friends. Mark and David got married in 1974, and Michele married in 1984. Grandkids soon followed and Ruby became an active and intracule part of their lives.
In 1983, Floyd and Ruby opened Kuna Rental with Ruby managing office duties and sales including nightcrawler and fishing bait sales. Nightcrawlers were not her favorite! They operated the business until retirement in 1993. Ruby and Floyd joined the Good Sam’s Kaveman Traveler’s group in Kuna and spent many wonderful hours traveling with their friends.
Ruby was the matriarch of our family. Friends were an integral part of her life that she truly cherished. Ruby never met a stranger, loved her family, was strong in her faith, and will be greatly missed by all. While we mourn her passing, we are so thankful for all the years, memories and love that she provided to our family. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones and friends.
Ruby is survived by her children: David (Pat), Mark, Michele Brothers, and Vickie Prindle; Grandchildren: Dena (Brent), Shane, Brad (Diana), Angie (Tom), Mandy (Justin), Scott (Tasha), and Britni; along with 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd; parents Irving and Myrtle; and dear friend Mike Hall.
A celebration of life will be held on April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kuna Methodist Church, Kuna, Idaho. Please join us for a reception and luncheon at the Kuna Senior Center immediately following the service.
Donations can be made in Ruby’s name to the Kuna Senior Center.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
