Carmella "Carm" Hue
April 30th, 1933 - March 4th, 2025
Carmella (Carm) Hue was born in Chicago to Giovanna and Felice Trinchese on April 30, 1933. She passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025 after a series of health issues.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Antonette Trinchese and husband John Hue.
She is survived by her son William (Dr Laura Challoner), daughter Antonette, grandson Samuel Laitsch (Kari Geiger) granddaughter Jackie Laitsch , great grandson Jackson Laitsch, sisters Jean (Jim) Johnson and Mary Montalbano and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
Carm loved her cats Emily and Olivia also known as kitty and other kitty. She was a prolific quilter, reader, internet networker and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Carm loved to cook authentic Italian dishes. Well over 90 years old, she was driving a black PT Cruiser adorned with bullet hole decals and a personalized “GD MUDDER” license plate. She had a great sense of humor and if you were her friend she was extremely loyal.
Her family wishes to thank doctors and staff at Alden and Rainbow Hospice and caretakers at home Charla Steinke, Jill Sinclair and Kalie Johnson. They loved Carm and took care of her like a member of the family.
For those wanting to acknowledge Carm’s life, donations to a Humane Society or Vets Roll (Rockford Illinois) are much appreciated. A joint celebration of Carm and John’s life will be held at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 1PM until 3PM.
