A life well lived is not measured by years but by the love, laughter, and memories left behind. Your storied, your wisdom, and your unwavering love will forever echo in our hearts.

Kirk Haywood, a beloved father, grandfather, veteran, and storyteller, gained his wings on March 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and unforgettable memories. He was born on January 15, 1957, In Americus, Georgia, to Rosia and Thomas Haywood and later made his home in Flint, Michigan, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to his family. 

 

Kirk was a proud graduate of Flint Northern High School, Class of 1975. he formed lifelong friendship during his school years and developed a deep love for sports. In 1982, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the military. He was stationed in Tacoma, WA where he honorably served until 1984. His time in the service shaped his strong work ethic, resilience, and deep sense of responsibility- values he carried throughout his life. 

 

A man of many stories, Kirk had a way of bringing people together with his words. Whether he was sharing lessons from his past, reminiscing about his experience, or simply making someone laugh, his presence was always larger than life. His wisdom and humor left a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

 

Kirk was a lifelong sports enthusiast, dedicated Seattle Seahawks fan, and a lover of basketball. However, his greatest passion was supporting his grandchildren in their athletic pursuits. He never missed a football or basketball games, always cheering them on with pride and joy. 

 

Above all, Kirk was a devoted family man. He leaves behind two sons Korey Haywood (April Haywood,) Kylis Haywood and two daughter's Kendra Haywood, Kiki Haywood. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren- Makayla, Myles, Monroe, Kylis (baby kylis), Zemirah, Paradise, Zahayla, and Kenneth. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he loved the, with all his heart. 

 

Kirks presence, wisdom, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but forever cherished. His stories, laughter, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. 

 

Rest in peace, Kirk Haywood. Your Spirit and legacy will never be forgotten.
