Wilford Louis Harris (90) peacefully passed away surrounded by family on February 21, 2025 at home in Cocoa, Florida. 

Bill was born on March 24, 1934 to Wilfred & Marie Harris in Detroit, Michigan. 

He served 4 years in the United States Air Force, at which time he met Gayle at the skating rink and when he saw her for the first time he fell in love with her long legs and ponytail.  Bill was a devoted husband to his wife Gayle for 67 years. 

During his life, Bill loved all sports, especially baseball and softball.  In his younger days, Bill played softball for a local adult team.  The team won the Florida State Championship three years in a row.  Later in life, he continued to play softball with his old teammates, as “The Over The Hill Gang”. 

He retired from Boeing Aerospace after 43 Years starting as a technician and retiring as a facility manager at the Space Station Processing Facility. 

Bill enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing softball with his many friends.  He was known for his easy-going laid-back way of approaching life.  He was loved by many people. 

Bill is survived by his loving wife Gayle, daughters, Linda Harris and Penny Isner (Scott), grandchildren Amanda Adrian (James), Ryan Leffler (Kari), Adam Schmalenberger, Kyle Isner, and Dylan Isner.  Additionally, he was grandpa to 10 great grandchildren.  

There will be a celebration of life, June 14 at Bill & Gayle’s home.
