To Know Ron Was To Love Him
Obituary for Ronald Dean ConleyJune 10, 1946 – March 13, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Dean Conley, a loving husband, father, Papa, uncle and friend. Ron was born on June 10, 1946, and left us on March 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with stage 4 melanoma. He was 78 years old.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janice; son, Michael; daughter, Cheryl (Tony Williams); and his cherished grandchildren, Grant Conley, Reagan Conley, Lauren Williams, and Kaitlyn Williams.
To know Ron was to love him. His selflessness, kindness, and warm-hearted nature left an impression on everyone he met. Known for his wisdom and unwavering support, Ron had an extraordinary ability to touch the hearts and souls of those around him. He was a man who always put others first, his generosity was unmatched.
Diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in 2017, Ron fought bravely, always determined to make lasting memories with his family. Despite the toll the disease and treatments took on his body, he remained strong and positive, often lifting others' spirits with his smile, jokes, caring nature and overall demeanor. His legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ron was an amazing husband, dad and Papa; a man who truly and deeply believed in the importance of family. As he often said, "Time with family, especially the grandkids, is about building memories." He succeeded in this goal and created memories that will be cherished forever. Some of the favorites include family trips, enjoying popcorn and apples with his grandkids while watching movies, getting down on the floor to play with them when they were young, taking them bowling, playing outside or teaching them how to build things. He was, simply the best!
Surrounded by family in his final days, Ron was cared for, comforted and enveloped in their love, a testament to the profound impact he had on all of them. A celebration of his life will be held later this year in St. Louis, where he and Janice met as teens, married and raised their family before moving to Florida.
Ron’s memory will live on through his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit, love, and wisdom will never be forgotten and will be carried in the hearts of his wife, kids and grandchildren forever.
May he rest in peace.
