Clark Legacy Center - Nicholasville
Darrin Allen Deaton
December 8th, 1961 - March 17th, 2025
Darrin Allen Deaton, 63, of Nicholasville, and husband of Rhonda L. Salamone passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, under hospice care at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. A Nicholasville native, he was born to the late Vernon “Corky” Deaton and Hilma “Tommie” Deaton on December 8, 1961. Darrin is of Christian faith and deeply rooted in traditional family values.
In addition to his loving wife, Darrin is survived by his brother Dane (Donna) Deaton; his sister Denise (Kerry) Babcock; his nephews Kevin Deaton, Jonathan Deaton, Sean Craycraft and Eric (Chelsea) Craycraft; his niece Brittany (Chris) Rees; his great nephews Brody Deaton, Uriah Craycraft and Lennox Craycraft; his great niece Millie Rees; his in laws James and Mary Robinson, his step sons Jeffrey and Anthony; and five grandchildren.
Darrin was brilliant and hard working. After he earned a double-major bachelor's degree at the University of Kentucky, in computer science and math, he built a successful career in transportation. He began his transportation career at Overnite/UPS Transportation from where he retired. Not wanting to sit still long, he began working as a dock supervisor for Old Dominion Freight lines, where he worked for the last 14 years.
When Darrin wasn’t working, you could always find him on his tractor, mowing the grounds around their home. He loved animals and cars and enjoyed going to car shows and races with his friends. He also had a life-long appreciation for comic books.
Friends of the family are invited to celebrate Darrin’s life on Friday, April 4 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville: the celebration of life service will occur at 5:00 pm followed by a reception from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.
Donations in memory of Darrin are encouraged to Bluegrass Care Navigators (https://www.bgcarenav.org/give) or the ASPCA (https://www.aspca.org/).
