In Loving Memory

Mr. David R. Baldwin, 85, of Cayce, South Carolina (SC), died March 16, 2025.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 27th at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery off Delree Street in West Columbia (Mt. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery is located across the street from Celestial Memorial Gardens).

Born October 1st, 1939 and raised in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, David was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and received an Associate Degree from Pan American Technical School. He had 45 years of experience in the engineering and design field. A true South Carolinian, David had lived in both the Upstate near Greenville and retired to the Midlands area in Cayce, South Carolina. He also enjoyed trips to the coast such as Myrtle Beach and Charleston.

As captain of the Ware Shoals football team, David had a lifelong love of sports. He was a loyal University of South Carolina fan and found much joy following and rooting for the Gamecocks. With a gift and enjoyment in building anything, David had the ability to visualize, design, develop and complete any building project. You might find him adding an entire bathroom or completing a kitchen renovation in his home from his own design and construction work. He also found great joy spending time with family during the year and especially at holidays. David enjoyed social time with family and friends and could be found at a Friday night dance with his wife and friends or a "game night" of Dominos or Password. He also enjoyed captaining a pontoon boat or just relaxing on Lake Murray.

He is survived by his wife Linda Price-Baldwin; his sons, Lance Baldwin (Kim) and Chris Baldwin; daughter, Carol Roberts (Nelson); five grandchildren, Kayla Leedy (Brian), Christopher Baldwin (Natalie), Abby Egan (Devin), Emma Baldwin (Hunter), and Jared Roberts; and great grandchildren, Jacob Baldwin, Elizabeth Leedy, and Amelia Egan. He has also been privileged to enjoy a host of precious and endearing nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Vera Baldwin of Ware Shoals, SC and his brothers Harry Baldwin and Wendell Baldwin.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B. Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their help and care.
