Freal Andrew Stukey
December 4th, 1932 - March 10th, 2025
In Loving Memory Of
Freal Andrew Stukey, born December 4, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey, joined his beloved wife, Marie, in their eternal resting place on March 10, 2025.
Stu, as he was affectionately known to his friends, joined the United States Navy after graduating high school. In the Navy, Stu was a Hospital Corpsman 3, stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. After his dedicated years of service, he met and married the love of his life, Marie A. Condon (Reezie as he called her). Stu and Marie built a beautiful family raising two sons and two daughters. They lived in Schenectady, New York where Stu briefly worked as a DJ and an announcer for WSNY. He then worked for WMHT Public TV and had a call-in talk show. After that, he became a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service (USPS) before moving his family to Indialantic, Florida in 1974. There he continued serving the public with USPS as a Letter Carrier, then a Mail Handler. Also in 1974, Stu was upgraded to the name “Popi” when his first grandchild was born. After 25 years of service, Popi retired from the USPS. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, making and eating all types of soup and taking care of his wife (who had also been upgraded to the name “Nani”).
Freal is predeceased by his wife, Marie A. Stukey, and his oldest son, William P. Stukey. He is survived by his children, Konrad Stukey of Hagaman, New York, Melinda (Edgardo) Prasauskas of Port St. John, Florida and Ingerlise (Gerard) Pietromartire of Rockledge, Florida; his grandchildren Joseph (Cheryl) Rice, Kris (Nick) Evans, James Evers, Tina (Daniel) Dailey, Hallie (Emil) Campos, Kara Parsons and Ian Pietromartire; and his fourteen great grandchildren, Tayler, James, Luke, Wyatt, Mike, Makaylin, David, Jayden, Carlie, Kinslie, Cameron, Cassidy, Kyla and Riley. Freal’s final wishes were for a private interment at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William Child’s Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida. The doctors, nurses and staff provided exceptional compassion and care to Freal during his final days, for which the family is deeply grateful.
To make a long story short; Dad, Popi, Great-Popi, you will forever be remembered and missed. We love you.
