In Loving Memory

Lorraine Norma Stokke Guentzel passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at Villa Court in Cromwell, MN at the age of 90. Lorraine was born on July 14, 1934, to Gerda and Elias Stokke.

She is survived by her daughters LoAnn (Calvin) Reponen, Raelene (Brian) Jarvi; daughter-in-law Maureen Guentzel; grandchildren Callie Cloutier, Kristopher (Amanda) Guentzel, Michael (Tara) Reponen, Natalie (Michael) LaRusso, Haley (Jason) Jarvi, Stephanie (Jeremy) Rohl, and Morgan Jarvi; great grandchildren Henry and Layla Cloutier, Harrison and Doris Guentzel, Avelene and Ashlynn Reponen, Willa LaRusso, Hollin and Emile Andre, Jameson and Beckett Rohl; sister Mary (Jim) Mart; sister-in-law Sadie Stokke.

To say that Lorraine was proud of her family would be an understatement. Everyone that knew Lorraine loved her. She had a gift for conversation and hospitality. You could not leave her room without having some treats.

Lorraine met her beloved husband Don while working at the Co-Op store in Floodwood. When he saw her, he told his mom “I’m going to marry that girl.” They were married three months later on July 10th, 1954. They showed their children the meaning of true love and celebrated 61 years together in 2015 before Don passed away.

Lorraine was very active within the Floodwood community, often referred to as the Queen of Floodwood. She was very proud to have worked at Bridgeman’s for 40 years. She was met at Heaven’s Gate by her adoring husband Don; son Steve; sisters Inez Hill and Darlene Mattila; brothers Julian, Kenneth, Clarence, Lester, and Leonard Stokke; mother Gerda; father Elias; and infant grandchildren Joel and Melissa.

A visitation will be held at 10am on April 26, 2025, at Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood, MN. A celebration of Lorraine’s life will follow. Lunch will be served.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care and staff at Villa. We love you all.
