Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means we'll miss you until we meet again - have fun with Mom in heaven!
To our Stepdad –
Who was from a foreign country where its citizens were not free.
America was his dream, and he came to this country, an immigrant. He could not wait to become a US citizen. He practiced his English; assimilated himself as much as possible, except for his heavy accent, which he thought he did not have. (not true, he did). When he went to Denver for his Naturalization Ceremony, he told me it was the most important event of his life.
He held a Doctorate from his country that would never be recognized in the USA. He knew a few languages, he read 5-6 books at a time and remembered everything in all of them. He played classical music on the piano but loved ragtime more. He loved horses almost as much as our mom.
His first and last job was teaching mathematics, he loved it.
He loved our mom with every fiber of his being.
Dementia ravaged him over the last year, and today, he quietly left this world in his own dignified way.
HIs parents passed away many years ago in Poland, he leaves behind, 2 step-daughters.
Celebration of Life will be private.
