John Charles Dell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Charles Dell, who died following a severe head injury from a fall. He was 67 years old. 

Born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to lovely parents, Maureen Hawkes Dell and James (Jim) Dell. John was the beloved baby brother of four siblings and grew up surrounded by a close-knit family. He is survived by his siblings, Suanne Dell, Joanne Fisher (Larry), and Michael Dell, as well as his cherished children, Kyle Dell (Danielle), and Andrea Dell McCarty (Ryan). John is remembered by his Aunt Dottie Dell and cousins across the Untied States, England, and France. 

After graduating from Palmer High School, Class of 1977, John spent many years working hard, driving heavy equipment, and taking pride in his career. After retiring, he embraced the freedom to enjoy things that brought him the most joy. John loved fishing with friends, collecting nutcrackers, working on vintage cars (especially his beloved Camaro), watching sports, and spending time at his mountain property. These passions brought him peace and happiness as he was grateful for the time he could spend doing the things he loved. 

His life was further enriched by a close group of friends including Dan, Alan, Dave, and others with whom he shared countless memories and adventures. Their camaraderie was a cornerstone of his life, and he will be missed dearly by all who were lucky to know him. 

John was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty. He had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel loved and supported. His laughter warmth and presence will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path. 

In lieu of flowers, John would want you to sit outside with a cup of coffee and enjoy nature, feed the squirrels, exercise at the “Y”, and take time to be friends and family just as he did. 

A memorial service will be held at sacred heart church at 10:00AM, Tuesday, April 1, 2025. 

John’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his generous spirit and joyful nature.
