Mary Lou Warner, 99, was born Mary Lula Martin on November 1, 1925 in Tazewell, Virginia. She left this life that she dearly loved on March 24 in Sarasota, where she moved to be closer to her family.
A resident of St. Petersburg since 1958, Mary Lou was a teacher and guidance counselor in Pinellas County schools until her retirement. She received her bachelor’s degree from Concord College in West Virginia and master’s from USF.
She enjoyed three long marriages and was predeceased by her husbands James P. Stinnette, John Baker and Burrage Warner, Jr. She is survived by: children, Sandra Ripberger of Sarasota, David Stinnette of Bradenton and Kevin Stinnette on the catamaran Serendipity; grandchildren, Leila Stinnette, of St. Petersburg, Charlotte Osterman of Sarasota and Kate Little of Edinburgh Scotland and great grandchildren, Rhys, Holly, Oliver and Liam.
Mary Lou was an enthusiastic traveler and boater, a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the St. Petersburg Sail and Power Squadron and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
A celebration of life will be held there on April 6. For details and to RSVP see the website of Anderson-McQueen where contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Pinellas Education Foundation or American Stage.
