Richard Peter Toneske
July 17th, 1940 - March 23rd, 2025
Richard Peter Toneske of Ocala, Florida, a loving Husband, Father, and PopPop, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born in Yonkers, NY, on July 17, 1940. Richard proudly served in the US Navy from 1958 - 1961 on the USS Saratoga. He then became an electrician for the IBEW Local Union 3 in NY, where he worked tirelessly for 30 years before retiring to Ocala, Florida.
Richard was always an active volunteer throughout his life. He was a commissioner of the Monmouth Ocean Soccer Association, a beloved coach in the Jackson Vics Soccer Club, and more recently was a member of the Marion Landing Board, Sunshine Committee, and the President of the Marion Landing Patrol. Richard was a proud member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Richard had many hobbies, including bowling, fishing, soccer, softball, playing cards, baseball, and cooking, but his most treasured pastime was vacationing with his family and spending quality time with his grandchildren and granddogs.
He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Beatrice Toneske and son in law Eric “EZ” Zetta. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy, his children Kim Zetta, Keri (Peter) Mangan, Rick (Shelly) Toneske and Renee Toneske and grandchildren Devin, Dylan, Damin, Avah Mangan, Lynzee and Zaine Toneske, sister Cecelia (Ron) Miller and many nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (Timber Ridge) in Ocala, Florida, on Sunday, March 30th, from 2 to 5 pm. His mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, March 31st, at 8:30 am at Queen of Peace Church, and burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
