In Memory of

Josephine DiNatale Tinѐ

December 1, 1938 – March 27, 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Josephine “Giuseppa” DiNatale Tinѐ who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and loved ones, the morning of March 27th, 2025 at the age of 86.

Josephine was born on the December 1st 1938, to Antonino DiNatale and Giovanna Pistritto. She was the youngest of four children. Josephine grew up in the little town of Floridia, Sicily, before moving to Hartford, Connecticut with her family. In 1954, at the young age of 16, Josephine and her family came to the United States. She spoke very little English but embraced her new country and was determined to succeed in her new home. Shortly after becoming a U.S. Citizen, Josephine started working as a seamstress at a local shop on Front Street in Hartford, Connecticut while attending night school earning her diploma. She later went on to become a machinist for Colt Firearms where she made many friends and worked for 30 years, until she retired.

Josephine enjoyed taking her young family to Sicily to visit. She wanted her family to know their all their relatives in Sicily, their Italian heritage, and appreciate her childhood home. Later in life, Josephine enjoyed traveling all around the U.S. and the world with her husband, and especially going on cruises.

Josephine was married to her sweetheart Sebastiano Nuccio Tinѐ, their long marriage of 64 years was a symbol of everlasting love and dedication.

She is survived by her husband, their children Anthony (Lynne Anne), Marco (Janna), Alfredo (Olivia), and their children, Dante, Mateo, David, John, and Giuliana. Josephine is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the United States and in Italy. She was preceded in death by her brother Nino, sisters Maria, Lucia, and nephews Vincenzo and Dino, and niece Constance.

Josephine was a beautiful soul, gentle, funny, and always wearing a smile. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, always ready to feed you, make an espresso or “black coffee” as she called it, and sneak in a playful trick or two. Josephine’s sense of style was impeccable; she was always fashionable.

Above all, Josephine loved her family deeply. Josephine was devoted to her husband, sons, grandsons, and she shared an especially special bond with her granddaughter, her little girl.

We are grateful for the time she was a part of our lives, and her memory will be deeply cherished.

Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, Venice, on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 10 am - 1 pm followed by a graveside service at Venice Memorial Gardens at 2 pm.
