Allan Schuyler Pohle
December 12th, 1939 - March 24th, 2025
Allan Schuyler Pohle, 85, born in St. Louis, MO, on December 12, 1939, passed away on March 24, 2025, in Yuba City, CA. Allan was known for his friendly demeanor, entrepreneurial spirit, and generous heart.
Allan was the son of Mary E. Pohle and Lawrence P. Pohle. After growing up in Tucson, AZ, he later graduated from Oroville High School in 1958.
Allan married Joyce in 1962, and then dedicated six years to serving in the United States Air Force Reserve, a commitment that instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, patriotism, and community service.
After his honorable discharge, Allan and Joyce channeled their leadership skills and hardworking natures into founding Sierra Pacific Management, SPM, in 1969.
Under his guidance as President, the company flourished, becoming a cornerstone of property management in Northern California.
Allan's interests extended beyond his professional endeavors. He had a profound appreciation for Native American history, which he explored through much reading and conversations with the many friends he made in this area.
Allan made numerous trips to the Southwest, accompanied by family, friends, and foreign exchange students. These experiences not only enriched his knowledge but also allowed him to share this passion with others, creating lasting memories.
Other pastimes that Allan enjoyed include square dancing, motorcycle touring, his 1931 Ford Model A, fishing and gold mining.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, of 62 years, Joyce Pohle; children, Sky Pohle and Kim Millington; daughter-in-law, Anne Pohle; son-in-law, Shawn Millington; and his cherished grandchildren, Claire, Philip, Jonathan, Catherine, Seth, Ryanne, and Elijah. Allan was a proud great-grandfather to Makenna, Lakyn, Tanner, Duke, Brooklyn, Tilly, and Weston.
Allan greatly enjoyed and appreciated his "work family." He hired many employees over the last fifty-five years, many of whom have been loyal friends for decades. Allan always valued the people he worked with and mentored.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents; and his older brother, Larry Pohle, Jr.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, CA, on April 1, 2025, followed by burial at the Sutter Cemetery, Sutter, CA.
His legacy of humor, generosity, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew him.
