Imagine my dream of a world where different individuals, cultures, and countries live by and treat each other with the very same standard of behavior that they want for themselves. - Sara Moses

Sara Moses, a Holocaust survivor who dedicated her life to sharing her story and educating others about the horrors of the Nazi regime, passed away on March 30, 2025 at the age of 86. Born in Pietrkow, Poland in 1938, Sara was a young child when she and her family were taken from their home and forced into the brutality of Nazi persecution. She survived the Holocaust against unimaginable odds, enduring the hardships of two concentration camps before being liberated.  The loss of many loved ones, including her mother, shaped her resilience and deep sense of purpose.

After the war, Sara built a new life as a child in St. Louis, MO. She was married and had four children.  She was well-known for her diverse artistic skills, deep friendships, love of Motown music, dancing, and great sense of humor. Determined to ensure that the world would never forget the atrocities of the Holocaust, she spent decades speaking at schools, museums, and community events. She became a voice for the millions who perished and an inspiration to those who heard her message of hope, survival, and the importance of remembrance.

Sara’s legacy is one of courage, inspiration, and education. She received numerous honors for her work in Holocaust education and advocacy. Despite the pain of her past, she remained committed to spreading kindness and understanding, urging future generations to stand against hatred and intolerance.

Sara spent most of her adult life living in Dover, DE, St. Louis MO, and for the past 10 years in Denver, CO. She is survived by her four children, Fran DeLuca, Ben Moses, David Moses, and Jon Moses as well as her sister, Helen Frischenmeyer.

A funeral service was held on April 3, 2025. A celebration of Sara’s life will take place in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Jewish Family Services of Colorado (https://www.jewishfamilyservice.org/donate/make-a-donation) and to Kavod Senior Life in Denver, CO (https://www.kavodseniorlife.org/donate/).

May her memory be a blessing to all of us.
