Robert "Bob" Leroy Heinz

Robert (Bob) Heinz was born April 18th 1936 in Hazen, ND to George and Pauline (Welk) Heinz, and passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 88.   Bob was raised on the family farm in Hensler, ND with his siblings, Bernard, Theresa, Leo, Clara.  He graduated high school from Center, ND  and soon after graduation he joined the Army and served from 1955 to 1957.   Upon discharge from the army,  Bob returned to the Center, North Dakota area and started the trade of being a meat cutter.

Bob married Ann (Sack) Heinz on September 9, 1962. In the early years of their marriage they moved from North Dakota to Wyoming to  Montana to Wisconsin and back to North Dakota where they settled in Carpio.  While in Carpio, their three children, Brenda, Tim and Dale graduated from high school and soon after, they relocated to Minot, ND. 

Bob and Ann remained in the Minot area until the time of his retirement from Civil Service at the Minot Air Force Base.  They then moved to Mesa, AZ where they spent a few years before moving to Goodyear, Arizona where they resided in an independent living facility.  They enjoyed spending time with each other until Ann’s death on August 13, 2020.  Bob spent the remainder of his years enjoying close friendships with many of the residents. 

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, Brother - Bernard, and daughter - Brenda.  He is survived by his son - Tim (Diana) of Austintown, Ohio; son - Dale (Kimberly) of Goodyear, Arizona, Grandchildren – Anthony Paulson (WA), Ashley Canzonetta (Damon) (OH), Elizabeth Heinz (ND), Emily Heinz (AZ), Joshua Heinz (CA), Eva Heinz (MT) and Great grandson Travis (OH), He is also survived by siblings, Theresa (ND), Leo, (ND), and Clara (KS). 

Bob will be buried next to his wife, Ann, in the Veterans National Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona on April 18th at 2:00 pm.
