Robert Wayne Jones
May 4th, 1964 - April 8th, 2025
Robert “Grouper” Wayne Jones of Venice, Florida, passed away on April 8, 2025 at the age of 60. He was born in Tampa, Florida on May 4, 1964 and was a lifelong resident of Venice. Robert was a plumber with Babes Plumbing for over 40 years in Venice and the Boca Grande store.
He was a 5th generation Floridian, was a leader and director of Boy Scouts, member and church trustee at South Venice Baptist Church and a member of Sons of The American Legion. Robert loved hiking and biking.
He is survived by his mother, Linda M. Schaper; a son, Ryan Wayne; a daughter, Wynonna Marie; two grandchildren, Jazlynn Sophia and Wyatt Hurman. Robert also leaves his brother, Ralph W. Jones, several nieces, nephews and many aunts and uncles.
Robert was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Wm. Schaper; grandparents, Mary & Steve Deans, Frank & Lorraine Roberts; three uncles, Walter Deans, Frank Roberts, Jr., Raymond Roberts and a son Michael Roberts.
A visitation will take place at South Venice Baptist Church on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 10:00AM-11:00AM. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM with lunch following. The graveside service will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens.
