Norman Michael Ritchie III (Mike Ritchie), 71, passed away on November 18, 2024, in Melbourne. Mike was born on February 15, 1953, in Long Beach, New York. Mike grew up in Melbourne, Florida, played coronet in the Mel High Band, and graduated with the Mel High class of 1970. He was proud to be a Marine. Additionally, he mined coal in Lynch, Kentucky, cashiered at Sears in Melbourne, and worked a variety of other positions.
Mike was a dreamer who valued his country, friends, and loved ones. One often could find him socializing at a coffee diner or working on his hoopties. He enjoyed walks on the beach, space launches, Daytona stock car races, road trips, and music. He was a Christian, and member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne.

Mike was pre-deceased by his parents, Ethel Eassa Ritchie and Norman M. Ritchie, Jr., and an infant brother, Martin. He leaves behind his brother Rich Ritchie, sister Viola Ritchie Walker, relatives in Kentucky and West Palm Beach, lifelong friend Greg Panasuk, and girlfriend Doris Elaine McFerren.
A committal service will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Holy Trinity clergy, and with military honors.
