March 20th, 1937 - April 15th, 2025
Carol C. Maider passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 after a short illness.
Carol was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on March 20, 1937 and was the daughter of Merle L. Crowell and Emma W. Crowell. Carol graduated from Wells College, Wells, New York in 1959 where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Carol was a proud mother and grandmother and was very active in the Gloversville community. She gave her time in many ways including volunteering at Nathan Littauer Hospital, the YWCA and the Fulton County Historical Society among others. She was also involved in local politics and proudly served as the Chairwoman of the Gloversville Republican Committee for several years. During her life, Carol enjoyed sailing, traveling, gardening, spending time at Canada Lake and being outside. She also became an avid reader later in life.
Carol was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Robert L. Maider, and is survived by her son, Richard Crowell Maider, his wife, Susan Salino Maider; and grandsons, Andrew and Troy Maider; her daughter, Laura Maider Dolan, her husband, Gerard Dolan; and granddaughters, Emma and Kate Dolan.
