A Life Dedicated to Healing: Sandy Alane Darling (September 14, 1955 - May 3, 2025)

The world has lost a beacon of compassion and expertise with the passing of Sandy Alane Darling on May 3, 2025, after a dedicated career of 40 years as a trauma care nurse. Born on September 14, 1955, Sandy devoted her life to the critical and demanding field of trauma care, offering solace and expert medical attention during some of life's most challenging moments.

Throughout her remarkable career, Sandy was not only a pillar of strength for her patients and their families but also a gifted mentor. She poured her extensive knowledge and skill into training countless other nurses, shaping the next generation of caregivers with her unwavering commitment to excellence and her profound understanding of trauma medicine. Her impact extends far beyond the patients she directly cared for, rippling through the many lives she touched through her mentorship.

Beyond her demanding profession, Sandy found joy and fulfillment in her love for animals and her passion for gardening, particularly growing vegetables. These pursuits brought her closer to nature and provided a sense of peace and accomplishment.

Sandy is survived by her loving mother, Dolores Thuresson, her brothers David Darling and his wife Judy Darling, and her brother Michael Darling and his husband Terry Reiter.

Sandy Alane Darling's unwavering dedication to trauma care, her exceptional skill as a nurse, her profound impact as a mentor, her love for the natural world, and the love she shared with her family will be deeply missed by her colleagues, the countless patients she served, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of healing and compassion will continue to inspire for years to come.
