Shirley Drummond

Shirley Drummond, age 95 of The Villages passed away on April 30, 2025. She was born in Quebec, Canada on April 20, 1930. She relocated as a child with her family to Buffalo, NY where she attended school. She moved to Miami where she met and married John Drummond on December 10, 1966. She worked as an executive secretary for many years in Miami while raising their three children. Shirley and John retired to The Villages over 30 years ago. Shirley enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bowling. She was a talented artist, she loved to sew and crochet, she enjoyed playing the organ and singing. She and John enjoyed many cruise vacations to the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii during their retirement.

Shirley is preceded in death by her mother and father, sister and her daughter Sherry who passed away in March 2025. She is survived by her husband John of almost 59 years who was the absolute love of her life. They were inseparable. She is also survived by her daughters, Cindy and Terry and five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center with Pastor Tom Taylor of Live Oak Community Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages where she spent her last weeks of life. The staff was so very compassionate and caring to all her needs.
