Peggy Joyce Broughton
June 24th, 1932 - May 10th, 2025
Peggy Joyce (Wyatt) Broughton, 92, widow of William “Red” Broughton, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. She was formerly from Frankfort but currently was residing in Monticello, Kentucky. Peggy was born on June 24, 1932 to the late Ray Oliver and Gertrude Robinson Wyatt. She was a Kentucky Colonel. She worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Key Punch Supervisor for Kentucky State Police and as a Cook for Camp Earl Wallace in the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Peggy was a Dispatcher for the Monticello Police Department; she was a Cashier at the Raceway in Monticello; and retired after 24 years of service at Walmart in Monticello.
Peggy is survived by her children, Debbie B. (David) Rogers, and Johnny Ray (Jamie) Broughton; her grandchildren, Chris Rogers (Anissa), Dawn Craigmyle (Mike), Brandon Rogers (Shannon), J.W. Broughton (Heather), and Rebecca Montgomery (Micah); her 12 great grandchildren, Carley Stein, Sydney Borden, Logan Rogers, Tori and Sarah Childress, Taylor and Caroline Rogers, Faith (O’Reilly Luna), Alexis and Aiyanna Sutherland, MacKenzie, and Hudson Montgomery; and her 5 great great grandchildren, Calum, Everett, Beckham and Luka Stein, and Kai Borden; and a special and close friend, Sheila Hughes.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Oliver Wyatt, Priscilla Ann Van Meter, and Betty Jane Sea.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Pastor Jay Stratton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as pall bearers will be David Rogers, Brandon Rogers, Chris Rogers, Mike Craigmyle, J.W. Broughton, and Micah Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
