Lloyd Arthur Pemberton
April 15th, 1949 - May 11th, 2025
In Loving Memory
With his loving wife Sandra by his side, Lloyd Pemberton passed away on Sunday, May 11th due to a stroke. Lloyd was 76 years old.
Lloyd was born April 15, 1949 to Art and Bea Pemberton. He loved growing up in Alisal where he made many memories with family and friends. He was a 1967 graduate of Alisal High School. In high school, Lloyd loved singing with his twin Whitey in several local bands (Just Ends, Coral Keys, and many more).
Following his brother's footsteps, Lloyd enlisted in the Navy, serving from 1973-1975 in Vietnam aboard the USS Samuel Gompers as a radioman 3rd class receiving the following medals: Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
After returning home from Vietnam, Lloyd went to Hartnell college and then on to Sacramento State graduating class of 1979 with Bachelor's of Science in Accounting.
Lloyd returned to Salinas to work for several companies, including Jeri-Co Packing (an Ag company owned by Pemberton family) as an accountant, then on to the real estate business as a realtor for Town N Country Realty.
Lloyd was a member of the following organizations:
- Salinas Fairways-30+ year membership (great golfer)
- Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 6849- life member as the 3rd Commander
- American legion
For many years, Lloyd participated in playing softball for many softball leagues.
He enjoyed singing karaoke and playing poker at the American legion, taking occasional trips with Sandra to Reno. He was considered the “grandfather” of Grandhaven Street (original Pemberton home).
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Art and Bea, brother Mike, and twin brother Whitey.
He is survived by his wife Sandra (20 years), stepdaughter Aide (Mondo), stepson Ralph (Blanca) daughters: Jacqueline and Gia; grandchildren: Damien, Junior, Alize and Mandy, Sister-In-Law's: Diane Pemberton, Dieanna Pemberton plus numerous family members.
Thank you to hospice and stepdaughter Aide for caregiving.
A viewing will be held for Lloyd on Monday, June 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Healey Mortuary Chapel. He will be interred at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors. Family and friends can meet at Healey Mortuary as early as 9 a.m. to pay their final respects before the funeral procession to the cemetery.
