Mr. Neil "Tony" Theodore Hansen, 87, of Greensboro passed away on May 21, 2025 at his home.  Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he lived in California with his life partner, Linda Shoemaker, for twelve years before moving to Greensboro, North Carolina.

 

Tony was a retired veteran of the US Air Force after 30 years of service. After retiring from the Air Force, he began his career as a flight engineer for commercial airlines. He most enjoyed teaching classes whether that was in his military service or his airline career. He loved traveling, skiing, golfing and the Dallas Cowboys.

 

Tony is survived by his loving life partner, Linda Shoemaker; his adopted son, Sean Shoemaker; his son, Brad; his daughter, Christy; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Marge Swearinger; and his brother, Darold Hinsch.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Sutton Hinsch; his brother, Doug Hinsch; and his sister, Joyce Klugg.

 

Per Tony's request, there will be no services held at this time.

 

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to AuthoraCare Hospice of Greensboro, NC.
