Richard "Dick" Ernest Korbi
November 14th, 1949 - May 18th, 2025
Richard E. Korbi, of Esko, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. He was born on November 14, 1949 in Cloquet, MN to Ernest and Helen (Ojala) Korbi. Dick grew up and lived most of his life in Esko. Dick was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Army in 1970 – 72. Dick married his Princess, Nancy Smith on September 6, 1980, at an outdoor wedding on the family farm in Cromwell. He was a member of the Carpenters’ Local 361 retiring in 2008. He loved the outdoors. It didn’t matter what he was doing as long as he was outside.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Korbi of Esko; brother, Todd Korbi of Esko; 3 sisters, Carol (Terry) Wilkinson of Bitely, Michigan, Gale (Asa) Stephenson of Henderson, Nevada, and Judy Davern of Moose Lake; five nieces; three nephews; and many in-laws and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Brenda Kath.
Visitation: 10 am with the Funeral Service beginning at 11 am on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet, MN 55720. A luncheon will follow the service and the burial at the MN State Veteran’s Cemetery, 4777 US-53, Saginaw, MN 55779 will commence at 2 pm sharp.
