Obituary for Sharon Nuxoll-Mauser
June 30, 1936 – May 17th, 2025
It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sharon Mauser, who departed this life on May 17th, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in Boise, Idaho, on June 30, 1936, to Ralph and Isabel Margarite “Peggy” Cromwell, Sharon was a woman of remarkable spirit, talent, and intellect. In her youth, she was an outstanding student and a gifted dancer and acrobat.
In an era when few women pursued professions, Sharon built a meaningful career. She began her working life as a bank teller and, through determination, skill, and perseverance, rose to become an executive in Human Resources, first with Bank of Idaho and later with First Interstate Bank. She was the president of the American Institute of Banking and trained bank employees about customer service. She always took great pride in her career, and she loved to reminisce about her days “at the Bank,” long after retirement.
Those who knew Sharon will remember her sharp wit, charm, and a sparkle in her eyes. She made and kept many life-long friends from the Boise High School class of 1954.
She is survived by her two younger brothers, Brock and Dennis Cromwell, her three daughters, Cathy, Cheryl and Tracy, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward a piece of her sassy spirit. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children, and her children’s children. She loved to point out that we all came from her, and indeed, none of us would be here without her.
In response to complaints about life’s unfairness, she liked to recount the adage she often heard from her own mother; “God promised you Heaven. He didn’t promise you Fair.”
She was, and always will be, deeply loved.
