Jacqueline Ann Wirsching Scarbo passed peacefully from this life on May 22, 2025. She has survived by her three daughters Beth (Wesley), Leslie (Dave), and Deana. She has survived by five grandchildren, Ashley, Kimberlee, Brittany, Lindsey, Brandon and four great grandchildren, Matthew, Madison, Finley, and Bennett  and one great grandbaby on the way. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, and her parents, Gertrude and Phil Wirsching, her brothers Raymond and Charles.

She grew up very poor and had a rough upbringing from living on a concrete slab with a tar paper roof to quitting school in the 11th grade to work to help her mother support her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Jackie was a collector of things she loved from salt and pepper shakers to Avon decanter’s to shot glasses. She was also a collector of lost souls from cats to people. Anyone who needed a home could count on her no matter her financial situation. She would do her very best and treat them all like family.  Extra food would just magically appear on our table to feed whoever magically appeared in the chairs. She had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Though she was christened as an infant, she was re-baptized as an adult when she realized that it was necessary for her salvation.  She was a mother, a teacher, a friend, a sister, a great grandma and GMA. She had worked as a dental assistant, seamstress, waitress, and interior decorator.  She loved to sew, to crochet, to listen to music, to watch her “stories”, and to lend a hand to anyone in need. She sewed more prom dresses and bridesmaids dresses that can be counted and sometimes didn’t charge for her time if she knew that the young ladies couldn’t afford it. She’s spoiled her grandchildren rotten,  much to the chagrin of their parents who didn’t recognize this woman who all of a sudden had money for frivolous things.  She taught herself to play the guitar, install wallpaper, frame a porch to install windows, create toddler beds, and design a combination kid rocking chair/doll cradle.  She loved to play video games, especially Dr. Mario.  She went through spurts of new hobbies and everyone in the family has been the proud owner of a quilt, afghan, toaster cover, photos lacquered to hand carved wooden rounds, and so many perogis that she single handedly kept the sour cream makers in business.

Every family member with Facebook or a smart phone could expect to receive dozens of weekly emojis of hearts and praying hands to know that she was always thinking of you, always praying.

Jackie and her older sister, Judy, ran a successful window treatment shop for many years while their kids were young.  Jackie and her younger sister, Celette, became even closer during the golden years having breakfast together often.  Jackie was the glue that held the family together.  She and her brothers spoke frequently and she put a roof over them and/or their families more than once in her life.

She was fierce fighter and champion of the weak and less fortunate.  She will be greatly missed and heaven is blessed to have her.
