George "Plop" Garcia, "The Master Blaster", 67, of Yuba City, CA, went home to be with Jesus on May 29, 2025.

He was born on February 6, 1958, to Eugene "Geno" and Carmen Garcia in Yuba City, CA, and was a lifelong resident of Yuba City.

George was truly one of a kind. He was a Tierra Buena native, hardworking and full of heart. He lived a life marked by dedication, routine and quiet strength.

Known for his humor and nicknames that he gave to nearly everyone he loved, George had a way of making people laugh. He proudly rocked his Afro in his younger years and had a lifelong love for all things tie-dyed.

He worked for years with companies like Water Works Manufacturing, Yuba City Steel Products and Fast Fabricators as the "Master Blaster" bringing precision and pride to every job.

He was a gifted athlete, die hard 49ers fan, held a deep love for his country and a strong dedication to the people and things he loved.

Known for his athleticism, George lived an active lifestyle from a young age. In junior high, he proudly quarterbacked the Tierra Buena Eagles football team, helping lead them to a near-perfect two-season run, and a championship title.

Throughout his adult life, he continued to run regularly, often jogging five miles a day, and took part in countless marathons and local 5/10k charity races.

He also played softball for decades in the Yuba City, CA, and Marysville, CA, rec leagues, as well as the annual "Mejia Mean Bean" tournament.

George earned many first-place trophies over the years, thanks to his speed, powerful swing, and cannon of an arm. And of course, he was a devoted 49ers fan, game days were sacred.

George was a lifelong music lover with a deep connection to the oldies. For him, music wasn't just background, it was how he expressed himself.

Though quiet by nature, he often communicated his thoughts, memories, and moods through the songs he played. The music he loved brought him peace and reflection.

It was the soundtrack of his life, and it connected him to those he loved without ever needing many words.

He was also deeply patriotic and held a profound respect for military service members, especially those in his own family.

Though he never served, he gave back in his own way, donating to the USO and supporting local veterans' groups. He proudly stood for the flag and never missed an opportunity to honor those who served.

George found a second home among the regulars at Dowers Tavern and the old Town Pump. Whether sipping coffee or soda, he stayed connected to his community, catching up on all the latest stories and bringing them back to his family.

To those friends, thank you. You were an important part of his life. Though George was private and routine-driven, your presence brought him comfort and joy.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Dr. Chu, her team, and the entire staff at Davita Dialysis. For the last 16 months, you cared for George with compassion and dedication.

From the technicians to the patients who sat beside him each morning, you made a difference. His family will forever be grateful.

George is preceded in death by his father, Eugene "Geno" Garcia; his mother, Carmen Garcia, and his oldest brother, Alfred Garcia.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslie; her husband, Lloyd Lewis; son, Alfred Benjamin James Garcia; and his wife, Eszy Garcia; grandchildren, Junior Heredia, Destiny Kraack, Alexandra Lewis, Izabella Lewis, Nathanial Garcia, Mia Heredia, Lloyd Lewis Jr., and Israel Garcia; and his great-granddaughters, Analeya and Elia Garcia.

He also leaves behind his sister, Delores Rogers; his loving brother, Rick Garcia; nephew, Eric Rogers; and his wife, Rachelle; niece, Stephanie Valdez; and many extended family members and friends who meant so much to him.

Rosary services will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 6 PM, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, CA.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11 AM, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City, CA. Graveside to follow at Sutter Cemetery.

Everyone is welcome.
