Sawyer, you were a gift beyond measure. You changed us forever. We will carry your light in our hearts always.
With profound sadness and overwhelming love, we share the passing of our beloved Sawyer John McNally, who died on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at the tender age of 7.
Sawyer was a beautiful, bright soul who touched countless hearts in his short life. Although Sawyer was nonverbal, he communicated in the most powerful ways—through his eyes, his laughter, his presence, and his deep connection to those around him. He had a quiet strength and a gentle spirit that radiated love and resilience, teaching everyone who knew him what it truly means to listen, to care, and to love unconditionally.
He is survived by his devoted and loving parents, Mark and Kerry-Beth McNally, who dedicated themselves wholly to his care and happiness. They walked every path in pursuit of answers, tirelessly advocating for Sawyer and providing him with every support, opportunity, and joy possible. Their love for him knew no bounds.
Sawyer was a cherished little brother to Delia and Finley, who brought him endless joy, comfort, and companionship. He also leaves behind his adoring grandparents, Mary & Hugh McGowan, and Diane McNally; a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a wide circle of friends, teachers, and caregivers whose lives were changed by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Thomas McNally, who now welcomes him with open arms.
Though Sawyer’s voice was never heard in words, his presence spoke volumes. He reminded us all that communication isn’t measured by speech, but by connection—and his was as deep and profound as any. His life was a lesson in love in its purest form.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 6th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Ammen Funeral (Palm Bay-Malabar Rd). A Mass to honor Sawyer’s life will follow at Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay. The family will receive guests at their home immediately following mass. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly encourages donations to the Epilepsy Foundation in Sawyer’s memory.
