On June 2nd 2025, Mollie Geraldine Stumbo of Hiltons, Virginia went to be with the Lord at Holston Valley Hospital. Born December 23rd 1951, in the Duffield area of Scott County, Virginia to the late Jake and Georgia Berry. In 1986 she married the late Wayne L. Stumbo Jr, and had one child, a son, in 1989. Mollie worked as a Nurse in several nursing homes in the Tri-Cities area before retiring in 1999. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis and Lennis Berry; niece, Diane Berry.
Survivors include her son, Wayne L. Stumbo III and wife Morgan; grandchildren, Noah Grace and Jensen D. Stumbo; sister, Judy Pendelton; brothers, Wallace and Robert Berry; nephew, Kevin Pendelton; niece, Kristy Pendelton; along with numerous other beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Layton Bentley officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
