Joseph "Jay" Doran Pilkington went home to the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 81.

Jay was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, on January 25, 1944, to Herbert and Ruth Pilkington.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Pilkington, his children Shannon Fisher, Joseph Pilkington, David (Yuriko) Wesson, John (Melody) Pilkington, and Jennifer (Damon) Sabella, and his sisters Joyce Donahoo and Avanell Loudermelt. He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Samantha Pilkington, Minae and Luke Tomobuchi Wesson, Matthew Milton, Jacob Albin Jr., Ellaunie and Mikhayel Pilkington, Giovanni and Roman Sabella.

Jay served in the United States Air Force from February 23, 1961, and was honorably discharged February 19, 1965.

He was known for his amazing stories, which captured the adventures of his life. He was an avid sportsman with accomplishments in semi-pro motocross and flat track racing, as well as an exceptional bowler and golfer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family while spending some of the most memorable years owning and operating a Cooks Station in Amador County.

A true "forgive and forget" person, Jay was loving, kind, and a Godly man with deep convictions. His strength and perseverance shone through everything in his life.
