It is with deep sadness, and much love, that we mourn the passing of John Eugene Baretela, Sr., who died on June 4, 2025, at the age of 82. John was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He leaves behind memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He grew up and attended school in New York before enlisting in the United States Navy from 1960-1967. He worked with nuclear powered submarines and served on the USS McDonough . He later went on to spend most of his career working for AT&T. He loved spending time with his family and cheering on his beloved Gators!
John was preceded in death by his daughter Jill Baretela Belfi, his parents Peter and Loretta Baretela, his brother Dennis (Judy), his sister Donna (John) Dignam and sister Debbie Baretela Waters.
