Ben "Michael" Alexander
December 2nd, 1959 - May 25th, 2025
Ben, affectionately called “Michael” by family and close friends, was a man whose laughter filled rooms, and warm hugs penetrated the hearts of those who were present, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025.Born on December 2, 1959, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Robert Alexander and Eva Annise Smith Alexander, Michael’s life was filled with laughter. He was the youngest of a blended family of thirteen children. His desire to repair and tinker with devices and electronics led him to earn an associate’s degree as a Biomedical Engineering Technician. He started his successful career in New Orleans and later transferred to the east coast working in the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia area. He loved the challenge of keeping biomedical equipment functional in hospitals and training personnel on how to use the machines. Michael loved to gather with family and friends for a great time. Of course, when he arrived, he enjoyed showing off his latest purchases whether it was his alligator shoes, or other fine attire with his impeccable style. He never met a stranger and enjoyed lifeto the fullest. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Cornell, Barbara Ann, Joyce, Gene, Robert Jr., Deloris, Glorietta, Reginald, and Prentice. He is survived by his siblings Mary Ann Thompson, Patricia Funderburk, and Willie Martin Alexander. Although Michael is no longer physically present, his infectious laughter, and the memories he created will forever be cherished by those who loved him. His vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Michael was saved and baptized at an early age in Charlotte, North Carolina. Although he loved hard and lived hard, he has earned his crown and is now resting in peace with his heavenly father.
