Howard "BJ" Steinberg

Favorite local musician, loving father, grandfather and husband passed away on June 3rd, 2025 in hospice care, St. Petersburg, Florida. He was known for his incredible talent on guitar and pedal steel guitar, his professionalism, and his great sense of humor. He also spent 34 years as a consultant to the social security disability system’s office of hearings operations. He cared for others less fortunate than he, and served on non-profit boards in his spare time. He was a lover of cats, art, music, baseball, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice, his brother Robert Steinberg, his sons Lyle of Mequon, WI, and Matt of Guilford, VT, and grandchildren Madeline, Morris, Viviana, and Louis Vincenzo. A memorial and jam session will be held on July 26th at 12 o’clock through 2 o’clock in Hannah Hall at First Congregational Church of Concord. It is located at 79 Clinton St. All are welcome with or without instruments to play, dance, or just listen. Those who wish may join us at Pine Grove Cemetery in Concord at 3 o'clock for the internment, prayer, and to say goodbye. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ASPCA which is a cause near and dear to Howard’s heart.
