Eloise Cates, 94, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. Born on March 18th, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to Franz and Katherine Schuller, she was a loving wife, parent, sibling, daughter and friend. Eloise was known for her devotion to her loving family, who she cherished, and her service to her church community at Oak-Griner Baptist Church. An avid baker, her warm and open welcome was paired with delicious homemade goodies and a pot of coffee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Franklin Cates and her granddaughter, Erica Hopper.
She is survived by her sons and daughter, Franklin, Douglas, Anne, and Christopher; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and her brother and sister, Charles Schuller and Cecile McLaughlin.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th,2025 at 4:30 pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 910 East Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, Florida 34470. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Right to Life. Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
