George Edward Blaney
April 9th, 1953 - June 5th, 2025
George Edward Blaney, 72, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at St Mary’s Hospital.
He was born on April 9, 1953, in Brewster, NY, to the late Margaret (Scaniel) and Francis Blaney. He graduated from Carmel High School and worked in construction for Ralph Burdick Blacktopping Inc. in Brewster for over 10 years until his retirement. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1973. George enjoyed fishing, listening to 60’s and 70’s music, and gaming.
He was predeceased by his wife Susan (Otto) Blaney and his parents. He is survived by his sons Joseph, Stephen, and Michael Blaney; granddaughter Alia; and grandsons Michael Jr., Jonathan Michael, and Stephen Jr.
George’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. There will be no services at this time.
