Eugene Raymond Garofalo, Jr.
March 24th, 1961 - June 8th, 2025
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Eugene R. Garofalo Jr. (Gene) on Sunday, June 8th at the age of 64 in Melbourne, FL. Gene was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to the Melbourne area in 1984.
He was a successful businessman and entrepreneur, owning two businesses spanning over 30 years and retired in 2018. He loved his family more than life and if he was your friend, you were a friend for life. Gene was an eternal optimist, rarely had a bad day, and NEVER met a stranger. He loved to go on vacations with family and friends, spend time on the water boating, and was a great supporter of SBLL coaching Nick’s teams over the years and was an avid soccer dad for Brooke. Gene was soon to be a Papa which was to be the next great chapter in his life taken too soon.
Gene is survived by his wife Valerie, mother Linda Schweffermann, father Eugene R. Garofalo Sr. (Mary Jo), son Nicholas Garofalo (Mattie), daughter Brooke Schaefer (Matthew), sister Dawn Weber (Eric), and sister Nicole Antal (Grant), as well as countless extended family and friends.
