Carol Katsarelas, a vibrant and kind-hearted soul, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old.
Born on April 2, 1944, Carol was the cherished daughter of Helen and Rudolph Lange, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Lois Marvin (Russell Marvin).
Carol lived a life filled with compassion, strength, and joy, always making those around her feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Katsarelas, with whom she shared 61 years of laughter, partnership, and unwavering love. Together, they built a beautiful life and a family rich with love and memories.
Carol leaves behind her beloved children, Kevin Katsarelas (Erin) and Karie Thornton (Scot); her brother, Gordon Lange (Eileen); and her treasured grandchildren: Andrea Maples (Leland), Gabrielle Thornton (Lecia), Morgan Katsarelas, and Taylor Katsarelas. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Caleb Maples and Adelynn Maples, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Carol will also be dearly missed by her loyal dog, Cooper, who never left her side and brought her daily comfort and companionship.
She will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her kindness to all, and the deep love she had for her family, friends, and furry companion. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the stories she shared, and the memories that will be cherished forever.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 2pm at Englewood United Methodist Church. The service will also be live-streamed on https://www.englewoodmethodist.com/watch/
In honor of Carol’s generous heart and lifelong compassion, the family asks that flowers or donations be sent to Englewood United Methodist Church.
