Sharon Ann Davenport
August 22nd, 1954 - June 17th, 2025
Sharon Ann Davenport, 70, of Belleview, passed away on June 17, 2025 in Belleview, Florida.
Sharon Ann Davenport was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Eugene and Ruth Medeiros on August 22, 1954. She grew up in Enfield, Connecticut and graduated from Enrico Fermi High. She furthered her education at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, Massachusetts, which started her life-long career in the medical field. Sharon also obtained her HVAC Certification from Porter and Chester Institute in Stratford, Connecticut. She married John Kenneth Davenport on May 14, 1976 at the Agawam Congregational Church in Agawam, Massachusetts. She worked as a phlebotomist for Bay State Medical Center, Johnson Memorial and Quest Diagnostics for many years and then for Alliance Labs, and finally retiring as a lab tech at Advanced Urology Institute. Sharon was described by many as the “best they had” and was often called in for difficult cases specializing in elderly and NICU draws.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Eugene Joseph Medeiros Sr. and Ruth Mary Medeiros of Summerfield, Florida, and brother, Michael Alan Medeiros Sr. of Wildwood, Florida.
Sharon is survived by, husband, John Kenneth Davenport: daughter, Christina Lynn Haffke: son in law, Gerald Sears Haffke Jr.: brother, Eugene Joseph Medeiros Jr.: grandsons Timothy Lee Valetta and Zachary Thomas Valetta.
Sharon was often “adopting” people into her family. She was friends with everyone she met. She had a huge heart and loved to provide and take care of others, always taking the burden on herself, problem solving and making sure everyone was taken care of before they even knew they needed it. She was the glue that kept her family together. She loved visiting Disney, Tinkerbell, and multiple Norwegian cruises a year – where she loved to “duck” everyone she came into contact with just to see the smile it would bring to their faces. She was very creative and had a love for many different crafts.
A celebration of life will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home at 5946 SE Robinson Rd, Belleview, Florida, 34420 on Thursday, July 3 at 10am.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association in honor of Sharon’s big, generous heart.
