Henry James Goethe Moxon died on Tuesday July 8, 2025, at Cates House of Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, Florida at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie and his parents. He is survived by daughters Marnie M. Moser (Mark) of Hickory, Marjorie Alison Swearingen (Donald) of Ocala and Michelle A. Moxon of Ocala; grandchildren Samantha S. Lewis (Trenton), Dustin G. Swearingen (Savannah), Devin J. Swearingen, Shannon S. GauƯreau (Christian), Patrick S. Moser (Holly) and Sarah A. Moser; great-Grandchildren, Lynsie, Clayton and Weston Lewis, Penelope Swearingen, Lydia and Ryan Gauffreau.
Henry was born in Ocala, Florida on March 6. 1943 at Munroe Memorial Hospital to James and Juanita Moxon. He was a graduate of Ocala High School in the class of 1961 and the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science on Business Administration. He worked and ran the family lumber and cattle businesses (Ocala Lumber Sales Co and G & M Cattle Company) until his death. Henry loved watching westerns and old movies on television, learning about history and his family. Lately he truly enjoyed lunch at Braised Onion on Tuesdays and his class reunions at Gator Joe’s every month.
There will be a visitation on Monday, July 14, 2025, between 5 and 7 pm at Hiers – Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of Marion County.
