Toni Laswell-Ramsaur was born at Fremont Hospital in Yuba City, CA, in July of 1961. Toni was the second of four born to Gloria Gonzales and LeRoy Laswell and as the only girl, was affectionately known as "Sissy" to her brothers, Perry Richard and Michael. Toni attended Bridge, Park, and Gray Avenue schools and graduated from Yuba City High School in 1979, after which she attended Yuba College. She worked as a Laboratory Technician at large scale food production facilities for many years.
In her youth, Toni worked with her family at their restaurant, the El Zarape on Garden Highway, conveniently located behind their house.
Through Toni's work at the restaurant, she met her pickiest customer and surprisingly fell in love.
Toni married William Ramsaur in 1981, and went on to have two daughters, Katheryn and Noel, and adopted a son, Derek.
Toni was extremely generous and loving. Toni loved people and gathering with friends and family.
In her later years she found enjoyment in being the best grandma to her grandkids, Tessa, Walker, Isaac, and Bear.
A Celebration of Life will be held at home on July 26, 2025 from 1 PM to 3 PM.
