Frederic "Fred" Jensen

Frederic G. "Fred” Jensen, 90, of Greeley, CO was received into the arms of his Savior on October 4, 2012 at his residence in Greeley, CO. Fred was born on December 29, 1921 in Fort Calhoun, NE to James and Anna Jensen. He studied accounting at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, NE. Fred served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on March 26, 1946. He was married to Helen Russell in Council Bluffs, IA. Fred enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs for 65 years and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greeley for 25 years. He will be remembered by his family as a man who loved his family and left for them a heritage of faith. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Madsen of Greeley; son, Arthur (Lucy) Jensen of Council Bluffs; sister, June (Jack) Holman of White Bear, MN; three grandchildren, Christy (Chad) Gimmestad of Greeley, Joshua (Melissa) Jensen of Greeley and Sarah (Ken) Lawrence of Parker, CO; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; and a granddaughter, Anna Grace Gimmestad. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 1800 21st Avenue in Greeley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA.
