Shane Alan Madsen was born November 27, 1970 in Fort Morgan Colorado to Gerald and Marilyn Madsen (Brandner). He departed this life October 22, 2013 at the age of 42 years, 10 months and 25 days. Shane grew up on the eastern plains of Colorado in the town of Yuma, a community in which he made many lifelong friendships. Among the most cherished of friendships was the one he shared with his older brother, Shawn. Shane often said his brother was his best friend. Shane attended school in Yuma, Colorado graduating in May of 1989. Shane then moved to Greeley, Colorado where he attended AIMS community college and studied computer programming. Shane worked in the automotive sales industry for several years until he switched careers when he began working as a service technician at Quality Well and Pump. He had found his calling in this profession. Shane loved sports and was an avid participant in the sport of Wrestling. He was a fan of football and loved the Raiders, even while living in Bronco country. Shane had an incredible sense of humor, appreciated the well crafted prank and had a contagious laugh that infected all around him. The last few years of Shane's life were his most satisfying. He had a wonderful relationship with his adoring daughter, Ariana, and had found the love of a lifetime in his partner, Shelley. Shane made the absolute most of each day and approached every one of them with a positive attitude and a willingness to "pay it forward”. He was the kind of man who brought out the best in those around him. His kind, generous and accepting heart was an inspiration to all. He will truly be missed. Shane is survived by his life partner, Shelley Bode of Greeley, daughter Ariana Valdez of Westminster, his mother, Marilyn Madsen of Greeley, brother Shawn Madsen of Greeley , nieces Chandler and Kaenzie Marintzer of Greeley, grandfather Lloyd Madsen of Windsor and step sister Kim Sass Longworth of Hudson. Shane also leaves to mourn many more aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers. Shane was preceded in death by grandparents Rufus and Helen Brandner, Leona Madsen and uncle, Jim Brandner. A gathering of friends and family for Shane's Celebration of Life followed cremation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adamsonchapels.com.
