Simon Lee Benavides

Simon Lee Benavides, 52, of Pierce, CO passed away on December 3, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado. He was born December 16, 1962 in Greeley, CO to Hector and Corina (Archibeque) Benavides. Simon grew up in Pierce and attended high school in Ault. Simon worked most of his life in construction. Simon loved the Broncos. He loved to fish, camp, the mountains and anything outdoors. A Christmas tradition Simon shared with his kids was to spend Christmas Eve in their camper trailer and his children would wake up to find their presents. Simon would find any excuse to be outdoors with his friends and family. Simon is survived by his children, Carlos (Justine) Martinez of Greeley, Veronica (Josiah Campbell) Benavides of Greeley, Chomina Martinez of Denver, CO, and Matias (Whitney) Benavides of Greeley; 11 grandchildren; sister, Mary (Steve) Montoya of Greeley; niece, Patricia Montoya; nephew, Jeremy Montoya; close cousin, Freddie "Hito” Gonzales; and numerous friends, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Viewing will be on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. with funeral service at 3 p.m. both at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
